There are rules one must live by in order to experience a successful life. Most of us are taught those rules as children, how many of us remember them as we grow older is a mystery. Some may call these silly sayings but they are anything but that. They are perhaps more pertinent now than ever. When the rest of the country may reach for mood enhancing drugs, some of us opt for common sense - its cheaper, non addictive and no harmful side effects!

No Man Is An Island Unto Himself
A basic human need is companionship, the company of others. Although there may be times when being alone is great this cannot be for extended periods of time - we need to be surrounded (as water around an island) with friends, family co-workers etc.
